1. Connect the 3/8″ brass female brass fitting to the manifold or valve located behind the control panel of your gas grill. Do not use Teflon tape or plumber’s putty.
2. Connect the coupling nut to the LP cylinder valve and hand tighten.
3. When finished connecting to the gas source be sure to perform a leak test.

The regulator on a gas grill is the piece that goes from your valve to your propane tank and used to regulate the flow of gas. It contains a safety feature called a bypass. This mechanism in the regulator shuts off the gas supply if there is no back pressure in the hose. There are several reasons that would trigger this safety feature:

Turning your LP tank on while one of the grill burners is turned to the “On” position could inadvertently trip this automatic shut-off.

• Turn the LP tank to the “Off” position and wait a few minutes.
• Then turn all your grill burners to the “Off” position.
• After waiting several minutes, turn your LP tank to the “On” position and wait a few moments for the pressure to build-up in your hose.
• Now you can turn on one of your grill burners and attempt to ignite as usual.

If your gas regulator is continually being tripped, you may have a gas leak in your hose.

• Begin by making sure the valves on your grill and LP tank are in the “Off” position.
• Make a soap and water solution by pouring a small amount of dish soap into a bowl or spray bottle with water.
• Using your spray bottle or a sponge, apply your soap & water solution to the entire hose assembly including the connections at the LP tank and your grill.
  
• Now open the valve on your LP tank without turning on your grill. This will pressurize your hose.
• Check your entire line from the connection at your LP tank to the connection on your grill. If there is a leak, you’ll see bubbles forming and you may even notice a rotten egg smell.
• If you see bubbles or smell rotten eggs shut off your LP tank immediately. Do not use your grill until the leak has been fixed.

Depending on where the leak is detected, you may need to either replace your LP tank or the hose & regulator assembly for your grill.
